Significant Earthquake Shakes Delhi-NCR as Nepal Records Magnitude 6.2 Tremor.

Delhi-NCR experienced substantial tremors as a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck Nepal at a depth of 5 kilometers, according to the National Center for Seismology. The seismic activity was also felt in various parts of India, including the nation’s capital, New Delhi, and its neighboring regions.
This event prompted people to quickly evacuate their homes and office buildings in certain areas of New Delhi. Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of damage in either India or Nepal.
The National Centre for Seismology reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was situated at a latitude of 29.39 degrees North and a longitude of 81.23 degrees East in Nepal.
The GFZ (GeoForschungsZentrum), the National German Research Centre for Geosciences, has reported a magnitude 5.6 earthquake in the Nepal region.
Strong tremors were felt in various parts of northern India, leading people in Dehradun to quickly evacuate their buildings. Footage from the Secretariat captured the scene.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, Nepal was struck by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale at 2:51 pm today.
On Tuesday afternoon, the National Seismological Centre of Nepal reported a 5.3 magnitude earthquake striking the western regions of Nepal. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries or damage to property.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded in the Talkot area of Bajhang district, located 700 kilometers west of Kathmandu, at 2:40 p.m., as per the report.
The earthquake’s effects were also felt in the adjacent districts of Bhajang and in neighboring parts of India.
On Tuesday, Nepal experienced two earthquakes, measuring 6.2 and 4.6 on the Richter Scale, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). These seismic events were also felt in significant portions of India.
Two tremors were experienced within a span of less than half an hour. The initial earthquake occurred at 14:25:52 IST, followed by another at 14:51:04 IST.
The NCS, on X (formerly known as Twitter), posted the following message: “Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake on 03-10-2023 at 14:25:52 IST, Latitude: 29.37, Longitude: 81.22, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Nepal.”
The first quake, measuring 4.6 in magnitude, was determined to have a depth of 10 km, while the second quake, with a magnitude of 6.2, was found to have a depth of 5 km.
The following message was posted on X: “Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake on 03-10-2023 at 14:51:04 IST, Latitude: 29.39, Longitude: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Nepal.”
Amid strong tremors felt in various parts of northern India, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, along with others, evacuated Nirman Bhawan.
