Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, known for her acclaimed roles in ‘Raees’ and ‘Humsafar,’ got married in an intimate ceremony on Sunday, October 1. She married her longtime close friend and businessman, Salim Karim. The Pearl Continental Hotel Bhurban in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, served as the picturesque venue for their wedding.
Numerous videos and photos capturing the actress and her husband on their special day have quickly become internet sensations, spreading across various social media platforms. On her special day, Mahira Khan’s manager, Anushay Khan, and photographer, Izzah Shaheen Malik, provided a sneak peek into the actress’s wedding festivities through their social media posts.
One heartwarming video captured the moment when Mahira, dressed in a beautiful pastel lehenga and veil, walked down the aisle, approaching Salim, who was seen wiping away tears of joy. Salim looked dashing in a black sherwani and a blue turban. The couple exchanged vows in a picturesque outdoor ceremony in Murree, Pakistan.
This marks Mahira Khan’s second marriage. Previously, the actress tied the knot in 2007 with Ali Askari. However, the couple went their separate ways in 2015. They are proud parents to a 13-year-old son named Azlan.
When discussing her experience as a single mother, Mahira shared with Daily Pakistan, “After Azu came along, I realized that my marriage was strained, perhaps even before that. But sometimes, you let things continue, especially when it’s with someone who has been your sweetheart since childhood. However, that period was incredibly painful and challenging. I was quite young then, and having a baby, I was filled with fear.”
The actress explained that her career became her primary pillar of support during the challenging period following her divorce. She acknowledged that the initial years post-divorce were tough because two genuinely caring individuals were parting ways.
She clarified that the relationship wasn’t marked by abuse; rather, it ended because two young people had entered into marriage, and as time went on, their needs evolved, making it impossible for them to continue together. Mahira Khan has gained immense popularity through films like ‘Raees,’ ‘Verna,’ and ‘7 Din Mohabbat.’
